How the Kelly schedule works

The Kelly schedule is a fire department rotation built on 24-hour shifts with a 4-day break every 9 days.

Each platoon works on, off, on, off, on (three 24-hour shifts in 5 days) and then has 4 days off.

Three platoons are staggered by three days so the station is always covered.

How many hours a week is a Kelly schedule?
