How the DuPont schedule works
The DuPont schedule is a 12-hour rotating schedule known for its long break: once every four weeks each crew gets seven days off in a row.
Over 28 days a crew works 4 nights, has 3 days off, works 3 days, has 1 off, works 3 nights, has 3 off, works 4 days, then has 7 days off.
Four crews are staggered one week apart, so there is always one crew on days and one on nights.
Hours are uneven week to week: some weeks have 48 hours or more and the break week has none, which matters if your overtime is calculated weekly.
