How the 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off schedule works
The 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off schedule is the rotating version of 4 on 4 off. Every crew works both shifts in each block, so nobody is on permanent nights.
Each crew works 2 day shifts, goes straight on to 2 night shifts, then has 4 days off. The cycle is 8 days, so your shifts move one weekday later each time round.
Four crews are staggered by two days. On any day one crew is on days, one is on nights and two are off.
The gap between the last day shift and the first night shift is 24 hours, which is the usual turnaround on this rotation.
